Sukkur Strikers edge Quetta Qurbans as Karachi Kids dominate in PTPL 2025

The UBL Ameen Pakistan Tape-Ball Premier League (PTPL) 2025 continues to gain momentum with exciting matches, close finishes, and strong fan engagement at Naya Nazimabad Stadium, Karachi.

The tournament is being organized by Badar Expo Solutions in collaboration with the Pakistan Tape-Ball Foundation (PTBF).

In one of the most competitive encounters so far, Sukkur Strikers edged past Quetta Qurbans by just three runs, registering a narrow but memorable victory.

The match showcased high-intensity tape-ball cricket, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the final ball.

Wajid Meo of Sukkur Strikers was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.

His explosive hitting, quick running between the wickets, and match-defining moments played a key role in his team’s victory.

Meanwhile, Karachi Kids delivered a dominant performance against Larkana Warriors, securing a commanding 64-run win.

The side displayed excellent teamwork, sharp strategy, and disciplined execution throughout the contest.

Muzamil Kamoki from Karachi Kids was awarded Player of the Match for his exceptional display, which included powerful strokes and crucial contributions that turned the game firmly in his team’s favour.

Beyond the on-field action, the league has also focused on fan engagement.

PTPL Chairman Zohair Naseer was seen distributing prizes, shirts and balls among spectators during the Karachi Kids vs Larkana Warriors match, further energising the crowd and highlighting the league’s commitment to promoting tape-ball cricket culture.

Looking ahead, two exciting fixtures are scheduled for today, December 24.

In Match Five, Quetta Qurbans will take on Peshawar Shaheens, followed by Match Six featuring Lahore Lions against Rawalpindi Royals.

Asad Shah, widely known as AB 360, is set to be one of the biggest attractions of the UBL Ameen Pakistan Tape-Ball Premier League (PTPL) 2025 as he leads Karachi Kids in the platinum category.

A powerful all-rounder and right-hand batter, Asad has built a reputation for explosive stroke play and impactful spells with the ball, making him a match-winner in pressure situations.

Another Karachi Kids batter expected to light up the tournament is Usama Ali, popularly called Usama Sialkot.

A right-hand batter known for clean hitting and consistency, Usama adds stability to Karachi Kids’ batting lineup and remains a key option in crunch moments.

Zain Ali, nicknamed Zain Lefty, brings versatility to Karachi Kids with his left-hand batting and left-arm fast bowling.

Opening ceremony

The Pakistan Tape-Ball Premier League 2025 kicked off with an opening ceremony in Karachi on December 21 at 7:00 PM at the Naya Nazimabad Cricket Stadium.

The ceremony featured a live music performance and an exhibition match involving Pakistani celebrities, including Humayun Saeed, Saud, Jan Rambo, Noman Habib, and others.

Entry to the event was free for all.

The Pakistan Tape-Ball Foundation is the national authority for tape-ball cricket in the country.

It oversees rules, major tournaments, and talent development, while working to expand opportunities for players across Pakistan.
